Air Conditioner Installation in Salt Lake City

Replacing an air conditioner is one of the bigger decisions a homeowner makes, and the sizing matters as much as the brand. Air Pros installs and replaces central AC systems, heat pumps, and ductless systems across Salt Lake City, with same-day quotes and honest guidance on what your home actually needs.

What Air Pros Installs

Every home cools differently, so we don't push one product. Here's the lineup we work with and where each fits.

Central Air Conditioners

The standard for homes with ductwork. We install single-stage, two-stage, and variable-speed systems from Mitsubishi Electric, Trane, Goodman, and other major manufacturers, matched to your home's load and your budget.

Heat Pumps

One system that cools in July and heats in January. Modern cold-climate heat pumps handle Utah winters far better than their reputation suggests, and they often qualify for rebates and tax credits.

Ductless Mini Splits

For additions, basements, older homes without ducts, or that one room that never cools. As a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor, we install ductless systems at a factory-certified standard.

Full System Replacements

When an aging AC goes, the furnace and coil are often close behind. We'll show you the numbers for replacing components together versus separately, and let you decide.

Signs It's Time for a New Air Conditioner

Sign 01

The Repair Bills Keep Coming

One repair is normal. A repair every season means the system is telling you something, and the $5,000 rule (age times repair cost) usually confirms it.

Sign 02

It's 12 to 15+ Years Old

Most central ACs last 12 to 15 years in Utah conditions. Past that point, efficiency drops and major components start to go.

Sign 03

It Uses R-22 Refrigerant

R-22 was phased out in 2020, which makes recharging an old R-22 system expensive and short-sighted. A leak in one is usually the deciding vote for replacement.

Sign 04

Energy Bills Keep Climbing

An aging system loses efficiency every year. If your summer bills rise while your habits stay the same, the AC is likely the reason.

Sign 05

Uneven Cooling

Rooms that never reach temperature can point to a failing or wrongly sized system. Sometimes the fix is ductwork; sometimes it's the equipment. The load calculation settles it.

Sign 06

It Struggles Through Heat Waves

A system that keeps up in June but falls behind in late July is running at the edge of its capacity. At our elevation, that margin matters more than the spec sheet suggests.

Why Choose Air Pros for Your AC Installation?

An installation is only as good as the company standing behind it ten years later.

Locally Owned by Alex and Tara

Air Pros is a Salt Lake City company, not a franchise. The people who quote your system are the people accountable for it afterward.

Sized Right, Not Sold Big

The Manual J calculation is our answer to the industry habit of overselling tonnage. You get the size your home needs and the numbers that prove it.

What a New Air Conditioner Costs in Salt Lake City

Nobody can quote a new AC honestly without seeing the home, but the factors that move the price are no secret.

System size (tonnage). Bigger homes need more capacity, and capacity drives equipment cost. Correct sizing from the Manual J calculation keeps you from paying for tonnage you don't need.

Efficiency rating (SEER2). Higher-efficiency systems cost more upfront and less every month. Where the crossover point sits depends on how hard your system runs each summer.

Brand and features. Mitsubishi Electric, Trane, and Goodman each carry different price points, warranty terms, and feature sets. We'll lay out the differences without steering you to the most expensive option.

Ductwork condition. If existing ducts leak or choke airflow, connecting a new system to them wastes the money you just spent. We price any duct corrections separately and explain why they're worth it, or when they're not needed at all.

Installation complexity. Line set runs, electrical upgrades, and equipment access all affect labor.

You'll get a same-day quote with the options broken out, and rebates and tax credits can take a real bite out of the total, especially on heat pumps and high-efficiency systems. Financing is available if you'd rather spread the cost out.

Financing, Rebates, and Tax Credits

A new system is a real investment, and you shouldn't have to pay it all at once or leave incentive money on the table. Air Pros offers financing options, and current rebates and tax credits can meaningfully lower the net cost of high-efficiency systems and heat pumps. Ask for the numbers with your quote; we'll include what you qualify for.
